Early Intervention

Early Intervention

Early intervention focuses on supporting infants and young children who may need extra help meeting their developmental milestones. Chloe has extensive experience working with children from the age of 2 years onwards who may benefit from additional support in their early development. By identifying and addressing delays early, early intervention helps children build essential skills and reach their full potential.

Chloe has worked extensively with non-verbal, pre-verbal, and verbal children, supporting communication development in a way that is meaningful and individualised to each child. She has a strong focus on functional communication, helping children effectively express their wants and needs using tailored approaches that suit them best.

Communication supports may include picture exchange communication systems (PECS), high-tech communication devices, and supporting children to initiate and expand spoken words where appropriate. Chloe uses principles of verbal behaviour to support children in developing communication skills and progressing through early developmental milestones.

Early intervention sessions also support areas such as pre-school learning, cognition, fine & gross motor skills, and age appropriate daily living skills. Sessions are designed to support independence and are individualised to each child. â€‹

You may consider early intervention support if:
You may wish to explore early intervention if your child finds it difficult to understand or follow instructions, is not talking or struggling to communicate, has stopped using spoken words they previously had, or does not consistently respond to their name. Some children may also find play difficult, may not always understand danger, or find school challenging.

Families may also seek early intervention if their child experiences challenging behaviours, has lost previous learned skills, or finds self-help tasks such as dressing or toileting difficult. Many parents also reach out when they feel unsure or worried about their child's development and want guidance on how to support their child.
